Prachuap, May 8, 2012

Its been a while since last time we wrote. After Bangkok we went south to meet Sebastian and Kristen.

We flu to Surathani and from there took a ferri to Ko Pan Ngan, then a taxi and then a boat. About 10 hours of traveling using 4 different transportation means to arrive to one of the most beautiful beaches i have ever been to. Botle beach.

It is a small beach, surrounded by very green mountains and with very few people.A dream.

There Sebastian and Kriten were waiting for us. Of course, it had to be a place chosen b them. Only htey ave the type of isider asian information that 20 months of traveling through the reion  can give you.

It was great to see them. They had just een in Bali for two months and before that were in India and Nepal doing some serious yoga, trekking and paraliding.

We spent 4 days there and then headed to Ko Tao, an even nicer island, smaller, more green and with some of the most incredible diving i have seen. Our days were spent lying on the beach, relaxing, divin in the afternoons, meeting people. Great

One of the thins i was missing from my previous life was the constant meetin of new people that only happens when you travel. All types, ex bankers, lawyers, sheppards, veterinarians, full time travellers, etc etc. All of them with stories, adventures and a unique perspective on life. One with which  not always one may agree, for every great person you meet there is alwys a few who think they know it all because they have been travelling longer than you,or that they know the world..is always funny to me how some people think that because they visit a place they are already locals..would not be easy if one accepts that we are tourist, no matter how we put it, but do not belong to this land, not even speak the language and pretty much follow a well establish tourist route..but well..whi am I to judge.. I just get tired of it very quickly.

After 4 days in Ko Tao, I took a boat, the nigh boat from Ko Tao to Chumpon. 250 bath and 7 hours sleeping in the roof of a boat. Very nice for the first 2 hours, then freaking cold.

Saying bye to Sebastian and Kristen was nice, they are the type of friends who you know will always be around, they can not stay in one place for too long, I say nice because saying bye to them means meeting them in the future and being able to listen to new adventures.

In Chumpon, I took the train (30 Bath for 3 hours) to Prachuap. A small town with very few tourism and with a distinctive Thai feeling. The fact that no many people speak english and that the menus are in Thai, while difficult, makes it nice, harder, but nice.

My plan is to make it back to Bankok in stages and Prachuap was supposed to be only one day. However, as it happens normallywhen traveling, i found a great litle hostal, (200 bath a night) with a very nice garden and decided to stay for longer.

Yesterday I went to aclose by temple and the monkeys attacked me. I had a bottle of water and they just jumped on me to get the water. Monkeys can be very scary animals, theyr teeth are huge and the ones here are not afraid of humans..so I do not reccomend being a a close sapce with 20 monkeys.

Tomorrow I will be leaving to Bangkok.

I think only now i have come to relaize the changes that i decided to make. There is no more bank for me and it seems like a far away memory. Yet, and very weird to say it,I miss it.Who would have thought. But I guess I have a lot of  respect for the bank..we will see in a few months what my mind is saying.

The plan next is to fly to Israel and then fly back to Thailand for 2-3 more weeks, this time in the north. I am also traveling during the hot season so I have to adjust my trip to that.

Hot in this part of the world is hot...for the colombians..Barranca style.
